Chelsea will purchase additional medals and trophy replicas from the Premier League awards to all which participated in the season. By the rules of the Premier League, footballer can receive an official medal if he played at least 5 matches during the season, but medals are provided for players like Mohammed Salah and Andre Schurrle. The German went in Wolfsburg in January and Salah was loaned to Fiorentina, but both were invited by Chelsea to take part in the festivities.
Jose Mourinho said that these players are considered as a part of the team which won the title and they deserve medals.
"We sent invitations to Andre Schurrle, Mohammed Salah, Mark Schwarzer and Lewis Baker (who was loaned to Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons). They started the season with us. We invited them to attend to the last game against Sunderland and the gala dinner of the award for the player of the season. We don`t whether everyone can come - with Luis sure can, but we`re not sure about the others. I want them all to know that we consider them as a part of a championship team - they are champions like us. "
"I know that as a rule only those played at least 5 games will receive an official medal, but for the rest we will buy additional medals and replicas of the trophy. For me everybody are champions - those played every minute of the season like Terry and those played zero as Schwarzer . "
